An apprenticeship is a fantastic opportunity for young people to earn while they learn in a workplace environment and train towards an industry recognised qualification.
At Arnold Clark we are continually developing and improving our Early Careers offerings to ensure we provide the highest quality training and career opportunities to our apprentices.
We cover all costs including lunch at our training centres – if your child lives outside the travel radius to the training centres, we will cover travel expenses, accommodation and food costs. Uniforms are also provided.
Make sure they have all the necessary documentation ready to upload.
You can run through practice Maths and English tests with them to help them build confidence before taking the aptitude tests.
You can reassure them that all of our recruitment team are here to help them with any questions at all.
All our employees are well looked-after, but we take extra care with the wellbeing and safeguarding of our apprentices. For full details, please have a look through our Safeguarding Guide. Your child’s safety is our top priority.
This is obviously heavily dependent on the role but, if the apprentice decides to stay with Arnold Clark, their development won’t stop at the end of their apprenticeship. We provide opportunities for all our employees to continually develop and progress. From master techs to supervisors and management positions, there’s no limits to the progression opportunities available.
All qualifications are accredited and industry-recognised, so the apprentices can use their skills and knowledge with any employer.
The base rate for first-year apprentices is £7.50 per hour, increasing each year. All apprentices will enter our Apprenticeship Improvement Programme – a salary review incentive which allows us to review their salary every six months based on their performance. Their pay will never drop below the base rate for their year, but they will have the opportunity to really boost their earnings.
They will train at our training facilities – GTG Training in either Glasgow or Edinburgh. Again, any travel or accommodation fees will be covered by Arnold Clark.
They will be training Monday-Friday and return home for weekends – travel home will be covered.
When they apply, their preferred branch will be their first choice, but we will consider them for all roles in the area if demand is high for certain branches. They will be asked to confirm the position and branch by the recruiter before accepting the offer.
